HPE SimpliVity 4.0 introduces new features

HPE SimpliVity 4.0 is now available to download for existing HPE SimpliVity customers. Amongst the new features is the support of HPE StoreOnce, which offers a secondary storage solution for customers who need to store backups outside the federation.

HPE SimpliVity 4.0 is now available to download for existing customers and will be included with HPE SimpliVity systems ordered on February 3, 2020 and onward.

New features include:

  • Role-based access, which allows HPE SimpliVity administrators to identify backup users who can perform, search for, and restore crash consistent backups.
  • Management Virtual Appliance (MVA), which saves customers licensing costs by reducing the number of vCenters licenses needed to manage a 96 node fed from 3 to 1.
  • HPE StoreOnce for HPE SimpliVity, which offers a secondary storage solution for customers who need to store backups outside of the federation.

HPE has also added the SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure platform to the list of HPE offerings that Infosight monitors. InfoSight is HPE’s predictive analytics service, delivered over the cloud. It collects telemetry from arrays and HCI systems and provides system resource state and predictive usage information.
Infosight automates various support processes and uses machine learning to detect telemetry patterns or signatures that could indicate complex problems.
