Open standards (possessed by no one and used by all) allow any number of manufacturers to enter and compete based on pricing, value and build quality. Open standards provide the clarity and stability necessary for competing companies to collaborate and exchange ideas.
Presently there a 2 open standards: DDS and LTO. Today DDS continues to dominate the entry level tape product space with more than one million drives shipping last year. At the other end, LTO accounts for 75% of the “Super-class” or mid to high-end tape category.
All Lynx products are uncompromisingly built using highly proven and reliable components (such as the HP DDS and LTO Ultrium engines). Backup is not suited to risk taking, and Lynx doesn't.
Committed to the highest level of support
In the unlikely event of a failure, it's comforting to know that Lynx is committed to providing the highest level of break-fix support. A large spares pool, same or next day swap-out for larger capacity tape drives, and on-site support for the libraries (provided by fully trained HP engineers with committed sparing levels). A philosophy that has resulted in many thank-you letters and emails from satisfied users.
And what-if the backups just aren't working? Who knows why? It is comforting to know there's the backing of a group of highly-skilled, qualified and experienced engineers with strong tie-ins with most of the key vendors (such as HP, Symantec, Brocade and Emulex).

Whether the requirement is for a simple single server backup or a complex multi-server environment consisting of multiple platforms and databases, we will ensure a backup solution that meets your current requirements and possesses the flexibility to scale with requirements. We will ensure the correct design (be it single server attach, multi-server SCSI attach, a SAN or NAS), setup of the infrastructure and jobs, acceptance test, provide certified training and provide operational procedures.
